Garcia de Marina is a Spanish conceptual photographer who discovered Myanmar through Myanmar Stories, the e-magazine of Yangon Photo Festival. The facebook page @myanstories has become very popular not only inside the country, with its photo-stories reaching millions of people, but also abroad. “Many stories touched my heart and gave me the inspiration to create a new series of visual poetry based on the game of Chess, says Garcia. Innocents explores problems like human rights violations, gender issues, social justice and the treatment of human beings like merchandise. But it is also about positive aspects, like the construction of democracy and the hope of a better world.“

GARCÍA DE MARINA was born in Spain in 1975. Last year, he was chosen to participate in the collective exhibition that collated the history of poetry vision in Spain since 1950 at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León. His work has been published widely internationally and exhibited in renowned festivals like Foto Week D.C. in Washington, Photo Romania Festival, Festival Fotografía de la Luz in Argentina, Photometry in Greece, the Addis Photo Fest in Ethiopia and the Uppsala Festival Photo in Sweden.
